Hauler Grill Care
When your grill arrives, before your first cook, you'll need to season it to prepare it for use.
Start by washing all cooking surfaces with mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly.
Next, apply a thin, even layer of cooking oil to all carbon steel surfaces. Place the grill components in a 450°F oven and bake for 1 hour. Allow them to cool completely.
Repeat this seasoning process as many times as desired—we recommend at least 2–3 rounds to build a strong protective seasoning layer.
After each use, clean the cooking surfaces, dry thoroughly, and apply a light coat of oil to help maintain the seasoning and protect the steel.
With proper care and regular seasoning, your grill will continue to perform better with every cook.
Surface Rust During Shipping
Because your Hauler Grill is made from raw steel, a small amount of surface rust may occasionally develop during shipping. Changes in temperature, humidity, and moisture inside the packaging can cause this to happen while the grill is on its way from our shop to your door.
This is completely normal and will not affect the performance, durability, or lifespan of your grill.
To remove any surface rust, simply wipe the affected area with a cloth or lightly scrub it with a Scotch Brite pad or similar non abrasive scrubber.
Once cleaned, apply a thin coat of cooking oil to all cooking surfaces and heat the grill until the oil begins to smoke. Allow it to cool and repeat this process two to three times. This will build a protective seasoning layer, similar to cast iron cookware.
After seasoning, your grill is protected and ready to cook.

We recommend treating your grill like a cast iron pan, oiling it every now and then to prevent rust.
Do not paint your grill, even with high heat paint. The paint will not last and could contaminate your food.
With proper care, your grill will last a lifetime!
