Grill Top Attachment

Thank you for your purchase of your rocket stove grill top attachment. We recommend treating your grill top like a cast iron pan, oiling it every now and then to prevent rust.

Do not paint the grill top, even with high heat paint. The paint will not last and could contaminate your food.

With proper care, your grill top will last a lifetime!

Please read and review the safety guidelines listed below before use.

Important Notice: How to prevent warpage on your Grill Top attachment.

To get the best performance from your Chiasson Smoke Rocket Stove and protect your grill top attachment, it's crucial to follow proper heating procedures.

Best Practice: Place your grill top onto the rocket stove but flip the grill top so that the hinged grill top piece is hanging off the back of the attachment, or you can completely remove the grill top from the cone. Start your fire, let the stove reach a steady cooking temperature, then flip your grill top back up once the heat is stabilized. When placing your grill top onto your rocket stove, always practice proper fire safety to prevent burns or accidents, avoid leaning directly over the fire and keep flammable materials away.

Heat Your Rocket Stove First: Before flipping your grill top onto the cone, allow the fire to reach a stable cooking temperature of 500-600°F.

This also applies to cooking on your grill top with the charcoal insert, get your coal bed hot and ready to grill. Once you're ready to start grilling, flip your grill top back onto the cone.

Avoid High Initial Heat on the Grill Top: When lighting your rocket stove and getting it burning efficiently, temperatures can spike close to or above 1,000°F. If your grill top is placed over the stove too early, the extreme heat could cause warping.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure your grill top stays in top condition and ready for all your outdoor cooking needs. If you have any questions about properly cooking with your grill top please send us an email to sales@chiassonsmoke.com or call us at 608-391-0269.
